What really impresses, me when I go out to Indian restaurants is always the restaurant table linens. Obviously I like the food and normally the service is good but I am always impressed by the thick, quality starched table cloths and napkins. I always think it is amazing how they always seem to have white cloths and the curry always spills on it and surely it would stain. I am sure they do not have enough discount table linens to use new every time so they must have a really good way of washing them. I think why I am so impressed is that normal restaurants just have wipe clean tables and do not bother with linen and for me things like cloth napkins give a really good impression and show that they have made an effort. Normally it is only really expensive restaurants that have table linen like this and you feel scared that you might spill something on it and spoil it whereas in the Indian places they do not care and just bundle it away when they clear the tables, whether something has been spilt or not.. I do not even have such good quality linen at home for when I am entertaining, which is another reason why I am so impressed with it.
I did not really know what to expect from fresher’s week. I had heard different things about it, but one of the best things for me was the bag of goodies that I was given by the college. It had all sorts of promotional products in there and I thought they were really great. There were some college promotional gifts as well as various food products in sample size to encourage the new student to be loyal to their brand. I was also surprised at the amount of eco friendly promotional products but I guess that is something which people are very aware of at the moment and it is really nice to see students being targeted by companies wanting to show how they wish to be environmentally friendly. I think that if the younger generation can be forced to care more for the environment then the planet stands a much better chance of being saved as the older generation do not seem to care and they are not going to be effected so much by any changes that are made. I think that it is very important for us to be aware of the planets needs and do our best to help it.
