Google Inc, owner of the world’s most-used search engine, is giving employees mobile phones instead of cash gifts this year as it reins in costs during the recession, according to a person familiar with the matter.

About 85 per cent of workers will get a handset powered by Google’s Android operating system as a holiday gift, said the person, who asked not to be identified. Google handed out $1,000 cash gifts to most employees last year.Chief executive officer Eric Schmidt said last month that Google is seeking to control expenses and add fewer jobs as the global slump curbs online advertising growth.
The current economic crisis requires us to be more conservative about how we spend our money,” Mountain View, California-based Google said in an internal memo that was posted on technology industry blog Valleywag. The memo lists 17 countries where the phone won’t work, including Brazil, Russia,India and China. Employees in those countries will receive about $400, the cash value of the phone, Google said in the memo.
Google AdSense is a wonderful way to make money. However, it’s never good to rely on just one income source when you’re an Internet marketer. You never know if a company is going to change their terms or even worse… if you actually get banned from the network.
Granted, if you use white-hat SEO this is less likely to happen, but there are a few horror stories of people who have lost their AdSense accounts through sabotage, something they can’t help. And if you can’t prove that you’re the victim in the situation, Google may still ban your account.
That’s why you should consider working with alternatives to Google AdSense. By doing this, you have a perpetual income stream even if the inevitable might happen. And if it doesn’t, you’ll still increase your profitability.
With that being said, there are three alternatives to Google AdSense. They include: AdSense revenue-sharing sites, other pay-per-click networks and paid-to sites. Take a look at the sections below for more information.
Web 2.0 can be considered the most effective traffic method nowadays. So what is web 2.0? Web 2.0 is a term used to explain websites where the content of the website is generated dynamically by the visitors of the website. One example of this website is an online journal or commonly known as blog.
Blog is a web application where you can write your thoughts, opinions or ideas in a matter of minutes unlike the old static website. What becomes the attraction of blog is its simplicity. Both you as the author and the visitors of your blog can leave comments and write a post with a single click.
How to Generate Traffic Using a Blog
The key to generate traffic is in using a blog that is constant ly updated. If you want to be successful in this blog game you need to write often, write 1 or 2 posts a day. Another key is to make your blog known to others. You can use pingomatic.com to notify all blog search engines about your blog every time you finish writing your post. Also you can generate links from submitting your blog link to various directories.
First, you must realize that links are not created equally. And that means prioritizing link partners is important. Some will not help you at all because your links will only end up on pages that nobody looks at and have no PR. But on other hand, a few of your link partners will be very valuable because they will give you links on high value, high traffic pages.
Most of your inbound links differ in their value- there are some that are very useful for your website, there are some that weighs a little significance. Whether the link is valuable or not is the subject of many discussions and articles about search engine optimization and website promotion.
Write convincing testimonials: You can try writing testimonials on 10 or 20 high traffic sites in your area of interest and send it to the webmaster. Usually, they can’t resist publishing it for everyone else to see.
Try writing positive reviews of sites or products. Post reviews of sites or products in your blog or website and send a copy to the webmaster of the reviewed site. Again, most webmaster or online entrepreneurs are hungry for this type of exposure. You can even create a “reviews” section on your site to show how serious you are. But remember to be honest about your reviews and do not fabricate endorsements if you haven’t tried the product yet.
